Kristen Becker has been a touring comedian and producer for the past 15 yrs. Trained at the Humber School of Comedy (Toronto) Becker started teaching stand up comedy classes over 8 yrs ago. Originally as a way to kickstart a comedy scene in her hometown of Buffalo, NY, Becker recognized that quality comedic training helps build a quality comedy scene. Since then, becker was also the GM of Helium Buffalo, and had an in depth look at the industry, from both in front of and behind the curtain. As a Nola comedy scene ex-pat, Becker is stoked to contribute to this vibrant and growing scene.
Becker focuses on helping the individual performer find their own unique voice, but doesn’t write jokes for you- teach a person to fish, right? The more you bring to the class, the more you will get out of it. This class is useful for anyone who wants to perform stand up but hasn’t, folks a year or two into their comedy open mic life but want to get better/bigger laughs, or anyone looking to brush up their public speaking skills.
